Welcome to the Marvin Ridge High School Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) website. The goal of the PTSO is to support the education of all students at Marvin Ridge High School by facilitating communication and fostering relationships among parents, teachers, administration and students. MRHS consistently ranks as the highest performing school in Union County and this is a direct reflection of our Maverick community. Our volunteer and fundraising efforts provide educational and personal enrichment opportunities though support to the following:

Being a part of the PTSO means that you can make a difference for your student and your school! Typically the PTSO Board and committee chairpersons meet once per month with our principal for a little over an hour supporting programs like teacher and staff appreciation, Run for the Ridge, new students and families, school beautification and many more. The PTSO also provides scholarships and opportunities for volunteerism. Help influence our school by giving your input on what would make our school the best it can be!

MRHS PTSO Co-Presidents
Duties:
President
The president shall preside at all meetings of this local PTSO and the executive board at which they may be present; shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the bylaws or assigned to them by the organization or by the executive board; shall be a member of ex-officio of all committees except of the nominating committee; and shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the organization in order that the purposes may be promoted.
Vice President
The vice president shall perform the duties of the president in the absence or inability of that officer to serve. They shall act as aide to the president, shall perform such other delegated duties as my be assigned to them by the organization or by the executive board, and shall be a member ex-officio of all committees. Note: By volunteering for this position, it is anticipated that you will volunteer for the President position the following year.
Secretary
The secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings of the MRSH PTSO and of the executive board, have a current copy of the bylaws, maintain a membership list, and shall perform such other delegated duties as may be assigned.
The purposes of the Marvin Ridge PTSO are to:
a. Promote the welfare of youth in home, school and community.
b. To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of youth
c. To bring in to closer relation the home and the school, so that parents, teachers and students may cooperate intelligently in the education of our youth.
d. To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for al youth the highest advantages in physical, mental and social education.
e. To encourage the relationships within the school community that are a vital influence on the success of our children's futures, including those between students, teachers, staff, parents and patrons.
f. To foster a sense of support, pride, and enthusiasm for the school community by providing positive school/ community relationships that enhance our children's educational environment.

Since the inaugural race in 2012, this event has raised over $90,000 for our schools!
